A disc jockey or DJ is a person who selects and plays prerecorded music for an audience, either on radio, online content in the form of podcasts or web-based radio shows, or to clubbers. Many DJs speak to the audience, either to give the names of the songs and information about the performers (radio DJs) or to rap or chant along with the music. In the reggae genre they are known as Deejays, the person physically playing each track is known as the selector. There are several types of DJs: radio DJs play music that is broadcast on AM, FM, shortwave or digital radio stations; club DJs select and play music in a club, disco, a rave, or even a stadium; hip hop disc jockeys select, play and create music with multiple turntables as a hip-hop artist and/or performer, often backing up one or more MCs; a reggae disc jockey (deejay) is a vocalist who raps, toasts, beatboxes or chats over pre-recorded rhythm tracks; and mobile disc jockeys travel with mobile sound systems and play from an extensive collection of pre-recorded music. I've been around the block and across the globe on several airlines over the years, and I was very pleased to see that Air Tran Airlines is trying to bring back the passenger experience, and not just make money like some of the other airlines. It's called the multigrain doughnut, but it would be just as accurate to call it the trans fat doughnut (and more than HALF THE CALORIES in comes from fat!). Good thing they are not located in trans fat-free New York. Wal-Mart in China is selling a DVD which claims to be the new Transformers movie (using the movie's artwork and naming Michael Bay as the director) and what could be inside??? The DVD actually contains the TransMORphers movie -- a totally different, unrelated film. Lawsuit anyone?
