Damion Young (age 32), better known by his pen name, Damizza, is a record producer famous for his underground hip-hop work and his production/ friendship with artist like Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre & Mariah Carey. Damizza worked with Carey on creating her song "Crybaby" (2000)along with a few other classics. Damizza is also known for being one of the few real celebrities who own an account on MySpace.www.myspace.com/damizza1 Damizza and Carey raised eyebrows when a picture of them posing with former Vice President and Presidential Candidate Al Gore was posted on Damizza's MySpace account. Damizza also gets credit from Snoop Dogg for reuniting him and Dr. Dre which led to the recording of the Chronic album. Snoop speaks on Damizza and his role in re-uniting him and DR.DRE (Link) Damizza is becoming a household name more and more everyday since the release of his collaboration album with Butch Cassidy "Back B4 You're Lonely", and his hit single "Cruzin'" which is doing just that all the way up the charts. You can expect a full debut solo album, tenatively set for February 2008. Part of Damizza's fame stems from his involvement at Radio powerhouse KPWR in Los Angeles where he held the title of VP of Artist Relations which made him one of the most powerful executives in the industry. He became good friends with tons of HipHop artists, and various entertainers where he helped break a market some of today's biggest artist. He has maintained most of those friendships even through his retirement from "KPWR Power 106". Damizza is also known as being one of the most powerful people in HipHop according to the Source Magazine. The Source named him at number #4 at one point in time. With his limitless connections, friendships and talent, there is no limit to what Damion Young, A.K.A. Damizza can accomplish.
The Label
Damizza has also been working hard on building his label Babyree Records. He along with his label recently made a power move, by signing award winning (Grammy and Emmy) blues musicians to the label. The "LA BLUES ALLIANCE" is a supergroup of Blues musician's (Keb' Mo, Mike Finnigan, Mike Post ect.) making timeless music, the album "What a life" is due in stores June 26th 2007 on Babyree Records. In addition he has also been busy signing Producers, singers and songwriters to his label including Carlos "Los" Ramirez a 20 year old from Santa Barbara CA. credited for Producing Butch Cassidy and Damizza's hit single "CRUZIN". You can expect Damizza and Babyree Records new roster to hit the airwaves all over the world.
