MC Breed

Eric T. "MC" Breed (b. circa 1972) a native of Flint, & Detroit, Michigan is a rapper.

After his early success with the 1991 gold-selling single "Ain't No Future In Yo' Frontin'," featuring a sample from "Funky Worm" by the Ohio Players, he connected with rappers from both the south and the west coast. He finally joined fellow rapper Too $hort in Atlanta, Georgia, which resulted in his G-funk-oriented sound giving way to Dirty South influences.

Breed was one of the first rappers from the mid-west to break into national and international markets. He worked with rappers such as 2Pac (notably on the song, "Gotta Get Mine"), Too $hort, The D.O.C., Esham, The Insane Clown Posse, Slum Village, Rappin 4 Tay, Eightball & MJG, George Clinton, Yo-Yo, Spice 1, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Pooh-Man, Project: Deadman, Tito 6, and Proof of rap group D12. Breed has worked with producers such as Jazze Pha, Warren G, Erick Sermon, The Hurra, Colin Wolfe, Erotic D, Ant Banks & Fritz The Cat. His most popular album Funkafied features George Clinton on two tracks. Though the years since "Ain't No Future In Yo' Frontin'" enabled Breed to collaborate with many high-profile rappers, this body of work would remain slightly under the popular radar. In 1999, Breed made a triumphant return to the southeastern Michigan scene as the single "Let's Go to da Club" was incredibly well-received on Detroit-area radio and became a local club favorite.

On May 11, 2006, Genesee Circuit Court Judge Richard Yullie ordered the 34-year-old Breed to serve a year in Jackson State Prison for violating his probation due to failure to make $200,000 in child support payments.
