Nickel Creek is an American acoustic music trio with roots in bluegrass, which the trio now describes as "progressive acoustic". Nickel Creek is composed of three permanent members: Chris Thile (mandolin), Sara Watkins (violin), and her brother Sean Watkins (guitar). The band's fourth guest member has been less permanent, although the position of bassist is currently filled by Mark Schatz (string bass), and it has previously been filled by Scott Thile, Edgar Meyer, and Byron House. Over the band's three official albums, Nickel Creek's musical style seems to have shifted from contemporary bluegrass to the incorporation of indie rock elements, covering songs by Radiohead, Pavement, Elliott Smith, Bob Dylan, and even "Toxic" by Britney Spears, which has become a crowd favorite at their shows. Bush administration apparently has a patriotism issue and can't seem to "support our troops" as they should be. Late last year, the U.S. Government passed a new lay making it illegal to melt down pennies and nickels. (Which is silly and won't work- more on that later.) India has just recently done the same, with very interesting and strange results. A group of guys from CT and IL use a new website called CT Fish Finder to plan, prepare, and share a week long fishing trip they took to the Rock Creek and Blackfoot Rivers in Missoula, MT. The site's advanced GIS technology allowed them to plot hot spots and photos directly on an interactive map for all their friends an family to see.
