SCREEM (Site CReating and Editing EnvironMent), is both an HTML editor and XML editor for Linux and UNIX designed for use with the GNOME Desktop Environment. Rather than being a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor like Microsoft FrontPage, it is designed to be a WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean) editor enabling finer control over the HTML being created. It features previewing open documents in any installed web browser and a feature called "Intelliclose" which is a way of automatically closing HTML tags. SCREEM also supports Dreamweaver templates and has a good number of wizards to help with the addition of multimedia content. See also

Screem in the news
This laptop is so cool. It screems out to me as a must have :) A fairly nice round up of Linux Web development tools (read: GUI) including "Bluefish", "Screem", "Quanta Plus" and "Nvu" (which is also available for other OS's).
