Westside Connection is a group consisting of Ice Cube, WC, and Mack 10. Their first album, Bow Down, reached the #2 position on the Billboard 200 in 1996. The group was formed during the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry, coming out after the death of 2Pac. They have had feuds with Cypress Hill, Common Sense, Kam, and Q-Tip. After a long hiatus the group released their second album Terrorist Threats in 2003 hallmarked by the lead single "Gangsta Nation" with Nate Dogg. Relatively speaking, the rap group came up and diminished fairly quickly. In 2005 Mack 10 left the group due to a feud between him and Ice Cube. The argument was over Ice Cube's reluctance to go on tour, opting instead in favor of his movie career. While Ice Cube has stated that another Westside Connection album could be released, he has said Mack 10 will not be a part of the group. WC helped Ice Cube with his seventh album Laugh Now, Cry Later in June 2006, appearing on 2 tracks, satisfying many fans by bringing back the old school West Coast artists.
